STATEMENT ON INDIA’S STATESMAN NEWSPAPER FOR RELEASE TO THE MEDIA ON JUNE 13, 2017

One of India’s leading Newspapers, The Statesman, has offered to promote Zambia’s trade and tourism potential to the 1.3 billion people of India at no cost.

Statesman Newspaper Chief Representative for Diplomatic Missions SARAH BERRY says her media organization will publish weekly stories on Zambia’s trade and tourism potential, including online editions.

MS BERRY said this when she called on Zambia’s High Commissioner to India JUDITH KAPIJIMPANGA at the Zambian Chancery in New Delhi, India.

And Zambia’s High Commissioner to India JUDITH KAPIJIMPANGA says the Zambian Government has elevated tourism to top five priority areas for the country’s economic emancipation.

“Zambia has a lot of tourist attractions especially for the 1.3 billion Indians and let me emphasise that such tourists are guaranteed of utmost safety because of the friendly host citizens,” Mrs. KAPIJIMPANGA said.

She says the Zambian Mission in New Delhi is motivated by the growing interest among the Indian media practitioners interested in selling Zambia’s trade and tourism potential.

The Zambian top envoy in India has called on Indians to consider making joint venture projects with Zambians in the tourism sector as the country wants to fully exploit the potential.

She says government is also working hard to increase air and land connectivity to tourist sites.

“Indian tourists should try Zambia and they will be happy because if there is a problem, it could be that Zambians are over well-mannered and too hospitable,” she said.

This is contained in a statement made available by First Secretary Press and Tourism at the Zambian Mission in New Delhi, India, Bangwe Naviley.
