ZAMBIA’S High Commissioner to India, Judith Kapijimpanga, has praised Eden University Zambia for recruiting doctors from India as lecturers in their medical school.

Mrs. Kapijimpanga said the efforts by Eden University deserved commendation as the move contributed to the growth of tertiary education in Zambia.

She said Zambia High Commission in New Delhi, India, was happy that the private university had informed the mission regarding its process of recruiting authentic human resource.

“Zambia stands ready to benefit from the global medical hub, India, and the mission will be ready to facilitate visa processing for the right human resource,” Mrs. Kapijimpanga said.

She said this at the Zambian Chancery in New Delhi, India, when Eden University Registrar Kashweka Hachamba called on her.

And Mrs. Hachamba said most quality doctors who would be hired as medical lecturers in Zambia had been deployed to various parts of the country thereby leaving a gap in Lusaka.

She said her institution had progressed from a school of health sciences to a school of medicine.

“Eden University is working well with the Higher Education Authority in recruiting rightful human resource from various countries in Africa,” Mrs. Hachamba said.

She added that Eden was working well in partnership with the Copperbelt University, University of Zambia and Kampala University of Uganda.

This was contained in a statement made available by First Secretary Press and Tourism at the Zambian Mission in New Delhi, India, Bangwe Naviley.
