PRESS STATEMENT ON DEFENCE ENTOURAGE VISITING INDIA FOR BENCHMARKING (PRINT)

Zambia’s High Commissioner to India, Judith Kapijimpanga, says it is very easy to market Zambia abroad because of peace that can largely be attributed to a disciplined defence force.

Mrs. Kapijimpanga said the Zambian defence force had earned great reputation as it had exhibited exemplary conduct during political power transitions as well as when the country lost two serving Presidents.

She said this at her residence in New Delhi, India, at a dinner hosted for a Zambian defence force entourage that was visiting India for benchmarking.

“I wish to praise the Indian Government for this bilateral cooperation in areas of defence and security, and I am calling for stronger ties,” Mrs. Kapijimpanga.

This was contained in a statement made available by First Secretary Press and Tourism at the Zambian Mission in New Delhi, India, Bangwe Naviley.

And Mrs. Hachamba said most quality doctors who would be hired as medical lecturers in Zambia had been deployed to various parts of the country thereby leaving a gap in Lusaka.

She said her institution had progressed from a school of health sciences to a school of medicine.

“Eden University is working well with the Higher Education Authority in recruiting rightful human resource from various countries in Africa,” Mrs. Hachamba said.

She added that Eden was working well in partnership with the Copperbelt University, University of Zambia and Kampala University of Uganda.
